SONGZ Automobile Air Conditioning Co. Ltd., the world’s largest manufacturer of bus air-conditioners, had its usual presence at Busworld India, underscoring its intention of becoming a major player in the Indian bus AC market. The Chinese major showcased its proven product range to customers as it expects its global strengths and capacity to help beat competition in India.
Talking about SONGZ’ plans for India, Mr. Shawn of SONGZ, says: “Earlier we were working through a company in the Indian market with a different brand name, but for the last year and a half we have had direct presence with our own team and well-placed dealer network for sales and post-sales service, so it is a new beginning for us. Being the world’s largest bus AC maker with 10 manufacturing plants in China, we are looking at the Indian market for the long term and want to improve our presence in the country. We plan to set up a CKD plant in India shortly and will also build our service team in different parts of the country. We believe the Indian market is the future and it means a lot for SONGZ.”
One of the main reasons for SONGZ’s global success is its understanding of local market conditions in different parts of the globe and also its ability to incorporate customer feedback into its products range. The company is confident that it will be able to replicate its global success in the Indian market as well.
Says Mr. B.S. Arora, General Manager, Business Development – India, SONGZ: “We have some USPs over other bus AC makers in the Indian market. While one of them is being price competitive, our aluminium construction and light weight as well as well-designed cooling coils make us better than others. Based on feedback from customers all over the world, we keep improving our products to suit local market requirements and deliver the best products to our customers. We hope to do so in India as well. We are relatively new in the Indian market and are looking to be among the top three in the next two to three years.”
