Bus air-conditioning manufacturer Spheros will be presenting its latest air-conditioning systems and future concepts at Busworld Kortrijk. Innovative technology related to control electronics will also be on show. The new Spheros Body Interface for regulating air-conditioning, destination display, interior lighting, etc., will be unveiled to the public for the first time.
Demand for air-conditioning and heating solutions in buses is steadily increasing. At this year’s Busworld in Kortrijk Spheros will be demonstrating how the intelligent HVAC system solutions can contribute to greatly improved efficiency. In Rambla Nord, Stand R25 the company will be exhibiting efficient components for hybrid, electric and trolley buses. These include the electrical REVO-E rooftop air-conditioning unit, the new thermo H heater and the new SPump pump generation.
The intelligent and energy-efficient system inter-connection (a/c system, heat pump, heaters, etc.) plays an important role here. Together with holistic and intelligent energy management, this forms the basis for optimum use of the existing energy resources.
Everything under control, almost blind-fold
The system is rounded off by control electronics adapted to varying needs. For several years, Spheros has been steadily expanding its role as a development partner for vehicle electronics and complete control, hitherto with a focus on HVAC. Now there will soon be a human machine interface (HMI) solution from Spheros for buses, as already well established in the top end passenger car segment: an ergonomic and intuitive control and operating unit for air-conditioning, interior lighting, destination display, camera, etc.
Thanks to a rotary pushbutton switch, variably assignable one-touch keys and clear menu navigation in the display, it can be comfortably operated with one hand, almost blind-fold, without the driver being distracted. The first prototype of the Spheros Body Interface (SBI) will be coming to the trade fair.
