The 2024 IAA Commercial Vehicles and Components Exhibition officially kicked off in Hanover, Germany, and SuperPanther made a striking appearance with three new models and multiple innovative technologies. During the brand’s press conference on September 16, SuperPanther officially launched its “Enabler” strategy and, together with its first strategic partner under this initiative, Steyr Automotive, introduced new electric heavy-duty truck models designed for the European market.
The “Enabler” strategy is a comprehensive description of SuperPanther’s open business model aimed at the global market. It promotes collaboration with global OEMs and ecosystem partners to offer cutting-edge electric heavy-duty truck solutions, thus facilitating a genuine transformation towards electrification within the industry.
Leveraging its forward-looking technological roadmap and high R&D efficiency, SuperPanther has achieved significant breakthroughs in several key areas of electric heavy-duty truck technology. The company’s four core system technologies on display at this year’s IAA—Intelligent Energy Management System (IEM), Distributed and Coupled On-Demand Drive Electric Axle System, 876V High-Voltage Platform, and Integrated Thermal Management System with ultra-low-temperature heat pump—have all been awarded the title of “World Innovation” by the IAA. Notably, SuperPanther claimed four of more than ten “World Innovation” titles awarded at the event, a testament to its strong R&D capabilities and its foundation for deep collaboration with world-class OEMs and ecosystem partners as an “Enabler.”
SuperPanther’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Chao Liu, stated, “SuperPanther’s vision is to drive the global transformation of the trucking industry towards new energy solutions. The ‘Enabler’ strategy is SuperPanther’s steadfast and open choice for the global market, and we believe it is the most effective path to achieving net-zero transportation.”
Dr. Michael Ruf, President of SuperPanther’s European market, added, “As an innovation-driven new energy technology company, we are determined to accelerate net-zero transportation. Only with strong technological capabilities and a complete ecosystem can we truly become an ‘Enabler’ in the new era.”
SuperPanther’s Black Diamond electric heavy-duty truck, based on the company’s core technology platform, has already entered mass production in China. With its ever-evolving vehicle efficiency and impressive power performance, Black Diamond is exceeding customer expectations in operational efficiency. Through the “Enabler” strategy, SuperPanther is quickly transforming its core advantages into global product competitiveness while building an efficient green energy network to propel the era of net-zero transportation.
Under the guidance of the “Enabler” strategy, SuperPanther and Steyr Automotive, an European automotive company with more than a century of history, have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop the competitive electric heavy-duty trucks, reinforcing their shared commitment to net-zero transportation.
The first outcome of this partnership, the electric tractor eTopas 600, made a stunning debut at the IAA. The eTopas 600 is equipped with LFP batteries, boasting a service life of 1.8 million kilometers, and features SuperPanther’s self-developed dual-motor system with a rated power of 394kW and a maximum power of 692kW. It is also equipped with an 876V silicon carbide high-voltage platform that enables a full recharge in just 38 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle is fitted with SuperPanther’s ultra-low-temperature heat pump, which operates efficiently at temperatures as low as -30°C, ensuring excellent performance in winter. The eTopas 600 is expected to enter mass production at the end of 2025.
In addition, SuperPanther and Steyr Automotive have jointly developed a rigid truck series – the eEmerald-which will include three models offering various powertrains, ranges, and cabin configurations to meet diverse customer needs. These models will also feature SuperPanther’s core self-developed systems, demonstrating powerful advantages in terms of performance, winter operation, and vehicle longevity. The eEmerald series is also expected to enter mass production at the end of 2025.
During the press conference, SuperPanther also signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global logistics giant DHL Group, with both parties committed to driving sustainable development in the logistics sector. The partnership will focus on developing green logistics solutions and ecosystem infrastructure.
Under the terms of the strategic collaboration, SuperPanther will leverage its breakthrough electric truck technology to help DHL and its partners develop more efficient and cost-effective electric fleet operations, accelerating DHL’s growth and market share in the sustainable logistics space. DHL, with its extensive experience and resources in the logistics industry, will collaborate with SuperPanther to explore and innovate new low-carbon and net-zero transportation models. This includes joint efforts in vehicle procurement, operational optimization, energy replenishment infrastructure, and supply chain management, all aimed at better serving global customers and advancing towards a leadership position in global sustainable development.
SuperPanther’s impressive debut at the IAA not only highlighted its pioneering technological capabilities. The deep collaboration with an European OEM with over a century of history, along with the signing of strategic agreements with key customers, further proves that SuperPanther has earned the recognition of leading global partners and marks a significant milestone in its global strategy. SuperPanther looks forward to partnering with more global leaders as we move together towards a clean and efficient net-zero transportation era.
