Annual demand
As far as car carrier annual market demand is concerned, we expect an average growth rate of 8-10 per cent year-on-year. The market share for car carrier is expected to be around 5% of the total TIV.
Looming challenges
High-base effect and overall subdued consumer environment contributing to lower sales of automobiles. The subdued demand continues on the backdrop of high interest rates, slowing economic activity, resulting in decline of 5 per cent in total CV sales volume.
While loan availability to truck operators have hit due to control over banks and mutual funds lending to NBFCs after the IL&FS crisis, limiting their ability to purchase new vehicles.
