Tata Motors’ total sales, including exports of commercial and passenger vehicles, in March were 72,712 units. The company’s domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for March were 69,160 units. Cumulative sales, including exports, for 2012-13 totalled 810,086 units.
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market in March were 56,813 units, the highest monthly sales during the year. LCV sales were 41,961 units, while M&HCV sales stood at 14,852 units.
The Tata pick-ups – Tata Super Ace, Tata Xenon and Tata 207 – recorded highest-ever monthly sales at 6,981 units. Tata SCVs (Tata Ace and Tata Magic range) recorded highest-ever monthly sales at 29,960 units.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 537,143 units. Cumulative LCV sales were 393,762 units, while M&HCV sales stood at 143,381 units.
During the year, seven new advanced commercial vehicles – Tata Xenon pick-up, a stylish and rugged workhorse, the Tata LPT 3723, the first 5-axle rigid truck in the country in the 10×4 configuration, the Tata PRIMA 4938 tractor, the Tata PRIMA 3138K tipper, the Tata PRIMA 4923 & Tata PRIMA 4023 tractor, and the Tata LPK 3118 tipper – were launched.
The company introduced the Telematics & Fleet Management Service, which offers advanced telematics solutions enabling remote vehicle tracking services of fleet vehicles, thereby increasing productivity and profitability. The ‘Tata Alert’, a highway assistance programme for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, was also introduced to ensure that drivers receive on-site breakdown assistance within four hours.
The company’s exports stood at 3,552 vehicles in March, while cumulative exports for the fiscal were 50,831 units.
