Tata Motors’ Global Delivery Centre at Pune expanded

Tata Motors recently inaugurated its Global Delivery Centre’s (GDC) new facility at the ICC Devi Gaurav Technology Park in Pune at the hands of Mr. Guenter Butschek, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, in the presence of senior executives from Tata Motors, JLR and other Tata Motors Group companies.

With operations primarily based out of Pune, GDC also has footprints in locations like Mumbai, Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Dharwad, Pantnagar and Sanand, supporting 12 Tata Motors Group companies, including JLR, Tata Marcopolo, TAL, Tata Technologies, TML Drivelines and Tata Motors Finance.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. C. Ramakrishnan, Group Chief Financial Officer, Tata Motors, said: “As part of continuing efforts to streamline our business processes, GDC is a critical function central to the business delivering SLA-based transaction services, transforming business processes and analyzing transactional data to develop and deploy data models for better decision support. We are delighted to inaugurate the new state-of-the-art Global Delivery Center in Pune.”

Tata Motors launched Shared Services in 2003 with finance function and expanded to GDC in 2013 with a team of 120. Today, the team has grown to a strong pool of close to 600 professionals, delivering to over 160 business processes. It has also filed two IPRs for unique process innovations within this short period.

Over the last year, GDC has won several awards in the shared services domain in India as well as at the international level. These include awards for customer service, process efficiency, entrepreneurship, and process innovation.
