Tata Motors launched the new Tata Prima 3138.K 8X4 tipper equipped with an Allison 4430R transmission at the recently-held EXCON 2011 in Bangalore.
Powered by Cummins ISLe (CRDi) engine, the tipper has a maximum of 370 hp and features new generation brakes, ABS and hub reduction axle specially designed for off-road applications. The tipper also comes with a 19 cu. mt. rock body for better payload volume and faster tipping time.
Customers will also benefit from the many proven characteristics of the Allison 4430R transmission, including outstanding reliability and durability. Allison fully automatics allow faster acceleration resulting in shorter trip times and provide more torque to the wheels. Built in prognostics extend oil change intervals, and with two hands on the wheel, safety is increased.
The new Tata tipper has spacious air-conditioned cabin with a pneumatic-suspension driver’s seat and adjustable steering wheel. These amenities, along with the smooth shifting of the Allison fully automatic transmission, afford drivers the level of comfort necessary to achieve long hours of daily operation.
The tipper is ideal for carrying overburden in coal, iron, limestone and other applications involved in the heavy mining industry as well as similar off-road applications.
