Discussing the company’s growth plan, Mr. Bharat Mody of Intertraad, based in Mumbai, and Ms. Lee from TPI had a casual chat with R. Natarajan of MOTORINDIA. Says Ms. Lee: “Today, TPI is a well-known brand which is widely used in the fields of automobiles, sports and leisure, machine tools, electric motors, IT industry, home appliances, machinery, etc., enjoying a major market share in the well-developed Taiwanese auto industry. Being partly owned by NTN of Japan and a start-to-end producer with almost all possible processes as well as in-house manufacturing capabilities of its own, producing ball bearings, TPI has tremendous edge in quality over other contemporaries.” Currently, TPI produces a massive 16 million bearings per month at its Taiwan facility and 10 million per month at its Shanghai facility, under the TPI and NTN brands. 
Further expansion is on the cards and will be based on the needs of its global as well as Indian customers.
Mr. Mody shares: “Intertraad has been representing TPI in India for the last two decades and it has taken relentless efforts of the last several years before the leaders in the Indian two–wheeler industry began to trust TPI Bearings for sustaining critical applications on the challenging Indian weather and road conditions.” He further adds: “Indeed, we aim to be part of India’s growth story, for which we have already embarked upon good relationship with almost all leading two-wheeler manufacturers in the country and now hope to tap the four-wheeler segment as well. At the same time, we are very happy that auto makers in India have appreciated our overall performance which has resulted in us receiving the coveted Excellence Award from Bajaj Auto recently.”
