Trans ACNR Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a leading supplier of bus AC systems (JTAC brand) and truck refrigeration solutions (Hwasung Thermo brand), is gearing up to set new trends with its game-changing products. The Delhi-based company is anticipating a five-fold growth in its turnover to Rs. 500 crores by 2020.
Interacting exclusively with MOTORINDIA, Mr. Shatrughan Kumar, Managing Director and Founder of the company, stated: “With the Indian commercial vehicle industry poised for strong growth in the coming years, we are keen to leverage on the huge potential that lies in our products. There are one lakh buses, comprising light, medium and heavy duty segment, that were built in the country last year. Out of that, only 8,000 (8 per cent) were air-conditioned. By 2020, at least 50,000 buses are expected to be air-conditioned. This is despite the fact that the number (of buses) don’t increase (on a YOY basis). Keeping those parameters in mind, we hope to clock Rs. 500 crores, which is five times our current revenue.”
It is to be mentioned that Trans ACNR has managed to sell 17,500 units of bus ACs & truck refrigerators since it commenced operations in 2003. “In FY 2015-16, we supplied 3,100 bus ACs and close to 400 truck refrigerators. In the first quarter of this year, we have done 1,500 units (of both the products) and are targeting to sell 5,000 units during FY 2016-17. We are expecting a growth of 40 per cent every year and are confident of selling 18,000 units (of both the products) by FY 2019-20. With true spirit of ‘Make in India’ and its exports growing in Gulf, Russia and SAARC countries, JTAC is all set to become a global brand from Indian soil.
Talking about its upcoming product lines, Mr. Kumar revealed: “We will be expanding our product portfolio by making driver cabin air-conditioners in the near term. Branded as ‘JTAC ’, the trial runs of this product are going on and they should be hitting the market soon. We will also be rolling out battery-operated air-conditioners for driver cabin, which work on 24 volt DC, capable of running for 5 to 6 hours while the vehicle engine is switched off, giving the driver much needed rest after a tiring and long haul. For now, this product is being imported from South Korea, and once the volumes are justified, the manufacturing will be done in India. For large reefer containers, we are currently testing generator-powered refrigeration units based on inverter technology for high efficiency, low noise, vibration and maintenances. We have also launched refrigeration units for mini delivery vans running on 12v DC battery which has become very popular in a short span of time.”
Meantime, Trans ACNR will be pumping in Rs. 25 crores for establishing new assembly lines and ramping up its output at its existing manufacturing facility spread over 100,000 sq.ft. at Shajehanpur in Rajasthan, on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. It has already invested a similar amount in the first phase of building the facility that has an annual capacity of 12,000 units per annum. With the current utilization level at 50 per cent, it is confident of exhausting it completely in the next couple of years.
With a strong work force of 390 people, Trans ACNR is geared up for razor-sharp sales and service infrastructure with the latest cutting-edge app-based technology.
