Two-day IEI seminar on Green Technology in August

Manufacturing companies have to necessarily aim at greater efficiencies within their day-to-day operations with the new trend in process improvements. This is essential to meet the new objectives through more effective use of the existing resources. Driven also by social responsibility and environmental regulations, the trend towards green is favourably impacting manufacturing. Rooted in the very idea of using fewer resources and producing less waste, the trend towards green is an underlying force driving lean manufacturing.

Essentially a sub-trend of green, the idea of carbon footprint reduction is rooted in the notion of using fewer resources and is concerned specifically with the physical space being used. New technologies are helping to achieve this goal through better supply chain and inventory management. For achieving greater project and process visibility, firms have to look closer at the capabilities of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

It is against this backdrop that the Institute of Engineers (India) Tamilnadu State Centre is organising a two-day national seminar along with its 29th National Convention of Production Engineers. This seminar, to be held in Chennai on August 1 and 2, will offer immense potential to participate for companies associated with Green Technology.
