Vietnam Motor Show 2014 (VMS), the 10th International Exhibition on Automobile & Supporting Industries, will be held at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, during November 19-23.
About 150,000 trade visitors are expected at the five-day show. The major exhibitors are Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Hino, Honda, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Toyota and Lexus.
The number of passenger cars in Vietnam in 2012 was 1.4 million, equivalent to 15.5 cars per 1,000 people. There will be a substantial increase in the number of cars by 2025.
Vietnam is the fourth biggest motorbike/motorcycle market in the world, after China, India and Indonesia. In 2020, the number of vehicles in Vietnam will reach 33.5 million, equivalent to one vehicle for every 2.97 people.
The highest localization rate of cars now has just reached 20-30 per cent. Automotive supporting is considered one of the five most important industries receiving patronage and incentive for its development.
