Besides ZF Car Connect, ZF Aftermarket presented an Openmatics solution at ACMA Automechanika 2019. With ZF Smart Service, the aftersales specialist offered independent workshops, an app that enables mechanics to carry out reliable vehicle diagnoses and basic maintenance work using mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. Having undergone a successful, large-scale pilot across Great Britain, the next step will be to introduce the innovative product to other European markets, and thereafter worldwide.

Vijay Khorgade, Head of ZF Aftermarket India, explains: “We know that in the past many independent workshops have shied away from investing in expensive stationary diagnostic units. With ZF Smart Service, we have developed a particularly efficient workshop tool, a digital screwdriver, if you like, that no toolbox should be without. The resonance on the GB test market shows that workshops agree.”

Finding the participation for ZF at the show to be rewarding, he summarizes: “We could see a high level of visitor interest, which proved that Automechanika is the most important aftermarket exhibition in India. Customer feedback on exhibits was very satisfying and gave us great confidence for our targeted growth plans. With our tailor-made products and solutions for the aftersales market and our established product brands such as ZF, Lemförder, Sachs and TRW, we have the right offering for today’s business. In addition, we provided our partners with new product highlights such as the fleet management tool ZF Car Connect or the Sachs CDC shock absorbers for high-end European passenger cars which we introduced in India for the first time, offering interesting new potentials for future business.”
