Voith’s DIWA.5 transmission has
been approved by Mercedes-Benz
to be fitted in its first O500 citybus
in India. For Voith, the order repre-

liveries of DIWA transmissions to
India - a milestone in the company’s
history.
Mr. Karsten Kohler, Head of Key
Account Management - Bus Drive

North Africa and in the Middle East,

is all set to enter the competitive
Indian market. Demand originates

reasons for the decision in favour
of the DIWA automatics are, above

modern technology combined with
a maximum of reliability. Another
success factor is the proven Voith
service in India.
Mr. Kohler said: “Daimler (Mer-
cedes) is planning to introduce the
city buses with Voith transmissions
through 2012. We expect some good
number of buses to be put on road
this year with our transmissions.”
