ers to understand the needs of the
market. It has established service
networks across the country, and
the availability of spare parts is also
fairly good, making it convenient
for customers in remote parts. It is
looking to reduce the dependence
on imports and further strengthen its
vendor base in India.
Premium axle
The Premium 13-ton axles are
manufactured with long life axle
beam having standard track lengths
of 1850 mm and 1950
mm. Option available
is for track length up
to 3000 mm. Improved
lubrication system is
the special feature of
this axle. Hub greasing
is possible without dis-
mantling the hub. Axles
are fitted with separate
grease nipple for hub
greasing. Such axles
were being imported till
a few years ago, because
customers preferred im-
ported axles due to their
quality. The company
has changed the scenario by manu-
facturing world-class axles locally
in the country.
Maintenance-free suspension
Maintenance-free
suspension
was another of York’s innovative
products launched. The suspension,
manufactured using fewer compo-
nents, offers durability with low tare
weight. Designed to carry 12-ton
weight it is built with a ride height of
560 mm. It has significant features
like taper poly bushes to minimize
end play in torque arms and
equalizers pins. Castle nuts
and auto locks are used in
all fasteners provided in the
suspension, which relieves
the customers of regular mainte-
nance. It also reduces losses due to
negligence in regular maintenance.
Torque arms and spring seats of
the suspension are made of high
strength steel casting with eye bolt
auto locks for torque retention. An-
other innovative product feature is
the improved case hardened replace-
able wear pad (bolted type) for bet-
ter wear resistance and easy replace-
ment.
